The 2024 Radio Control Fédération Internationale de Automobile Formula 1 Series Sporting Regulations
Drivers – Individuals may compete in the Drivers’ Championship only. You do not need to compete in the Constructors Championship.
Teams – Consist of 2 drivers whose points are combined in the Constructors Championship. Only (1) Expert driver is allowed per team. The Top 10 drivers from the 2023 Championship season are considered to be “Expert”. The spirit of the 2024 season is a pro/am team event, with the intent on mentoring.
2024 RCFIA Knock Out Qualifying – RCFIA starts both rounds of Qualifying. At the conclusion of Qualifying Round 2, the TOP 10 cars will be broken out to compete for Fastest Single Lap Qualifying *In the event of a tie, breaker will go to the driver that achieved it first. (Spain 1997)
Points – 35 points for the win, 2nd = 34 points, 3rd = 33 points, etc. There will be a single TQ point awarded.
Chassis Regulations – Any brand/make/model of 1/10 electric Formula 1 single seater chassis is welcome to compete in the RCFIA Formula 1 series. However:
- Maximum track width is 190mm
- Max Wheelbase is 270mm
- The front suspension must be mounted to the chassis within the confines of the body and must be purpose built for Formula 1 cars with authenticity in mind.
- Team Powers Soft/Medium/Hard Compounds are the RCFIA Spec Tyres.
- Rear solid or independent axle 2wd only.
- Motors: ROAR Approved 25.5 Brushless Motor or Tamiya Johnson 540J (#53689) brushed Motors only. No illegal modifications of any kind to motors are allowed.
- If running Brushless- Any Roar Approved Non-Ramping Electronic Speed Control may be used.
- All speed controllers must be operated in “Zero-Timing Mode”. This is usually denoted by a flashing light (‘blinky mode’) when the speed control is powered on and in the neutral throttle position.
- If running Brushless- Any Roar Approved Non-Ramping Electronic Speed Control may be used.
- 2s 7.4v Lipo or 6-cell Ni-MH ROAR Approved Hardcase Only. Lipo batteries must not exceed 8.409v at any time.
- Minimum vehicle ready-to-race weight is 1,020g.
- All vehicles are subject to inspection by RCFIA Officials during any RCFIA event.
- RCFIA does not run pit stops.
